How To: Herbal Infusion
Herbs can be a wonderful addition to your self-healthcare routines. One of the many ways you can receive herbal support is through an infusion. An infusion is, essentially, a strongly brewed tea. Here is a recipe for a basic herbal infusion that is considered safe to use in pregnancy, postpartum and throughout your life.
As always, check with your care provider if you have any questions about herbs you are taking or want to take.
Materials:
quart mason jar with lid
herbs (nettles, red raspberry leaf, rose hips)
boiling water
Optional: cheesecloth, tea infuser or gauze square (to contain the herbs)
Instructions:
place 1/4C of herbs into the mason jar
fill mason jar with boiling water
place lid on jar - leave jar on counter
go to bed - drink infusion throughout the next day
*Add a squeeze of lemon or a drizzle of honey to your cup, if that sounds good to you! This infusion can be enjoyed hot or cold.
